These are a few Russian-language films produced since the fall of the Soviet Union.

Post-Soviet Russian Films

• Кука (2007)

  
  A well-off but disillusioned young woman leaves Moscow and goes to work at a social services agency. She notices a girl of about eight years who seems to be living independently and tries to help her. In serving others she finds the joy which was lacking in her former 'successful' life.

  A Milkmaid from Khatsapetovka
  By the terms of his late grandfather's will a rich playboy must marry within one month, otherwise his inheritance goes to the Wildlife Fund. He enters into a fake marriage with a milkmaid who has come to Moscow hoping to go to college. She seems timid and controllable, but turns out to be a person of courage, resolve, and integrity. In time she has a positive influence on him and his family. He abandons his life of loose women and heavy drinking (suggested in some early scenes) and starts doing something with his life. Made for TV in four one-hour episodes.

  Cinderella.ru
  An innocent young girl takes her girlfriend's suggestion and goes to Moscow in answer to the advertisement of a matrimonial agency which promises to introduce girls to single millionairs. But her real reason for going is to find her boyfriend, a small-town rocker gone to the big city to make good. The matrimonial agency turns out to be a scam and she loses $1500 borrowed from her girlfriend. Her boyfriend is enjoying success, she can't get near him, and he is living with a rich girlfriend. An effeminate male hairdresser takes pity on her and lets her stay in his apartment. She goes to work at a restaurant where she meets a nice young man who, unbeknownst to her, is a millionair who has run away from an overbearing father and an aranged marriage.

  Maidservant of Three Masters
  Two brothers and the son of one of them live together. Their housekeeper has to leave on family business, so they hire a nice girl who is working her way through college. Soon the brothers start wishing the son would marry her instead of his self-centered and sophicticated girlfriend. Generally inoffensive, though there is one scene where the son and his friend come home drunk.

  The Inlaws
  When the parents of a little girl take a trip to Italy, they ask first one set of their parents and the other to come and stay with her. In the end both show up and rivalry ensues.

• Монро (2009)

  
  Monro
  A young woman who works as a railway crossing guard bears a strong resemblances to Marilyn Monroe which she emphasizes by imitating the dress and manerisms of the famous actress. This wins her attention from men, but with sad results when a con man in town seduces her. This leaves her with emotionaly scars which heal slowly.

  The Tenant Girl
  A nieve girl from the village comes to the big city to expecting to stay with a girlfriend who came earlier. The girlfriend is no longer a nice person and is not happy to see her.

• Слон (2010)

  
  The Elephant
  A small circus is leaving town. Their elephant requires an operation which they cannot afford, so they reluctantly decide to send him to a vetenary college to be euthenized. A tired trucker accepts the job. A girl is accidently left behind and rides along with the trucker and the elephant until she can rejoin the circus.

  Half a Kingdom for Love
  A wealthy Russian's daughter has come home after graduating from university in the UK. Her father's wealth has made her feel that the world owes her expensive clothes, dinners in fancy restaurants, and a life free of care. She is unhappy that her widowed father plans to remarry. She comes to the engagement party drunk and makes a scene. The next morning her father cuts off her allowance and kicks her out of the house. Walking along the road she reluctantly accepts a lift from a young country bumpkin with bad cloths driving a beat-up car. He is really her father's young business partner whom she has never met. To help his friend, the young man has volunteered to guide her introduction to the real word.
